"cantabile", St. Matthew’s Church in Lucerne, 2005

In conjunction with the renovation of St. Matthew’s Church in Lucerne in 2005, the main entrance of the church was redesigned as a narthex. The ambience of the church’s interior space is conducive to lingering, thus prompting introspection as well. As the eye becomes gradually accustomed to the intricate landscape of images on the glass panes, the interior of the church begins to emerge more clearly. The photographic images are of water in movement, which not only appeals to the senses, but also evokes the viewer’s own associations.
